Wakamatsu Minami Kaigan-dori Walk

Wakamatsu Minami Kaigan-dori (commonly called Wakamatsu Band) is an area where many buildings from the Taisho era in the early 20th century remain standing. Among them is the former Furukawa Kogyo Wakamatsu Building, a gorgeous brick structure built in 1919. It is well known as being central to the history of Wakamatsu and its once thriving coal industry. Illuminated Wakato Bridge is another must-see site.

Wakachiku Museum

Dokai Bay thrived as a coal port. This museum belongs to Wakamatsu Chikko Company (present-day Wakachiku Construction Co., Ltd.), which was engaged in the development and operation of the port. The museum introduces the history of Wakamatsu and Dokai Bay harbor operations with panels, films and dioramas.

Kitakyushu Eco Town ‧ Next Generation Energy Park

This facility is designed to help visitors comprehensively learn about eco town projects conducted by Kitakyushu City. The museum offers a basic knowledge of energy and recycling with easy-to understand presentations.
At the outdoor mini-eco park, visitors can rest on a bench while they observe the seasonal wildlife.

Hibikinada Wind Farm
