Diorama of Coral Reef of Approx. 300 Million Years Ago
Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History & Human History
This diorama is a reproduction of a 300 million-year-old coral reef that formed the white limestone of the Hiraodai Plateau. At the time it formed, the warm sea spread around the area allowing coral to grow. This diorama shows the variety of life that was found here, including now-extinct ammonites and fusulinid.
