This trilobite fossil was discovered in a stratum from the Devonian Period in Morocco. The name "trilobite" was derived from the body structure, which is divided into three parts, with an axis lobe in the center and right and left pleural lobes. The trilobite lived only during the Paleozoic Era, and is therefore widely used as an index fossil to determine the period of a layer.
