Seirocrinus subangularis
Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History & Human History
A fossil from the Jurassic Period found in Germany, this rare specimen preserves the characteristics of the crinoids quite well. These crinoids were fossilized as they attached to a wood covered with oysters. It is thought that crinoids and oysters attached themselves to driftwood in the sea and sunk to the sea bed with the wood as it lost bouyancy.
