Temple bell of Saikoji Temple
Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History & Human History(History of Kitakyushu (Muromachi Period) )
This temple bell was excavated near the former site of Saikoji Temple (Kokuraminami-ku), which was burnt to the ground during an attack by the Otomo clan, the feudal lords of Oita. Although the temple was lost in the battle, legend tells us that the temple bell was buried to prevent it from being looted. It was cast by a Kokura foundry and dedicated in 1385.
