This is the largest coal mine painting ever made by Sakubei Yamamoto. It depicts a nearly naked man and woman digging coal, a scene of the labor that was behind Japan's industrial development. The Sakubei Yamamoto collection in Tagawa City has been designated as a UNESCO Memory of the World.
