In order to secure industrial water for the first-phase expansion project of the steel plant, this water intake and supply facility was established some 10 km from the mouth of the Onga River in 1910. This facility is still operating, and supplies about 70% of the industrial water needed for steel production at the Yawata Works. (All rights reserved.
